Journal 01. Natural Living with Taylr Anne Castro
We’re kicking off our first journal entry with Taylr Anne Castro. Taylr lives in Southern California with her husband, son, and dog. She loves spending her days gardening and soaking up the California sunshine, and we’re thrilled to chat with her about her rituals, favorite wellness rituals, and seasonal living practices.
How do you incorporate seasonal living into your daily life?
I embrace the seasons by shifting my routines to align with nature. In summer, I spend more time outside, often at the beach swimming in the ocean and surfing, and in winter, I enjoy evenings at home, a cozy meal on the stove.. I also incorporate seasonal produce into my meals, supporting local farmers and enjoying the freshest ingredients.
Do you have a daily or seasonal ritual you love? Tell us about it!
I love making matcha every morning. It’s a grounding ritual where I sift my matcha, whisk, steam homemade milk, and take a moment to be present before the day begins. It’s a small act that sets the tone for mindfulness and intention. Then I go outside and get some morning sunlight on my skin which is wonderful for my circadian rhythm.
Which of our products has become a part of your routine, and how do you use it?
I love drinking my Nurture tea every evening while winding down. It’s my time to be fully present with myself, a calming ritual that helps me transition from a busy day to a peaceful evening.
What’s your favorite way to unwind or reconnect with nature?
Right now in the middle of winter— I love sitting in our yard and watching the birds. It is one of my favorite ways to reconnect with nature. We have so many finches, doves, and sparrows, and it’s incredibly relaxing to hear their birdsong and watch them forage and play in the water.
Do you have a favorite season? How do you celebrate its arrival?
As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to appreciate every changing season. Each one brings its own rhythm, and I celebrate by adapting my routines to embrace the days and evenings to the fullest. The shifts are small here in California, but I love it because I am able to be outside in nature every single day.
If you could share one tip for creating a more intentional home, what would it be?
Make your home your sanctuary— a place you never want to leave.
